Estate planning - review and possible update of your existing estate plan

Please note that if you are interested in updating your estate plans for any reasons, we are now permitted (temporarily) to conduct video (e.g., zoom, etc.) signing meetings for estate plan documents. We can also discuss changes via telephone conferences, and we have various safe options to update your estate plan documents. We recommend that you review your estate plans with us (i.e., estate plan documents, beneficiary designations, titling of assets, etc.) every three to five years or if there has been any significant changes in your family and/or financial situation.  These changes include: (1) the death of a spouse or beneficiary; (2) a change in marital status; (3) your estate distribution goals have changed; (4) you would like to change who administers your affairs upon disability or death; (4) your employment status changed (new employer, retirement); (5) you started your own business, formed a corporation or new business entity; (6) you acquired real estate (new residence, cottage, timeshare, etc.); (7) you have changed investments, life insurance or other asset holdings, or; (8) you have changed financial advisors.  You should also make sure that your estate plan documents (e.g., trust, will, powers of attorney) are properly coordinated with the titling of your assets (e.g., real property, bank accounts, brokerage accounts, etc.) and your beneficiary designations (e.g., retirement accounts, annuities, life insurance policies, etc.
